slugs n snails and puppy dogs tails

The wonderful topic of feminism! i decided to share my view that men and women should be equal but are indeed VERY different! so i drew a set of scales.the man is made of slugs and snails and puppy dogs tails and the woman is made of sugar and spice and all things nice. wow how easily i have popped us into our nice neat boxes! I'm firmly made of sugar and spice and all things nice! except when I'm made of arsenic and snake venom of course! LOL
the final image is too big to scan on my little scanner so i have just scanned the man and woman.

instructions project.

We were given the task of coming up with a set of instructions.we could choose what we liked and could illustrate how we liked.After looking for inspiration for another project i found in a book, a list of ideas of how to ruin Santa's reputation in a week!! seemed like the perfect idea to me. I changed a few as they weren't easy to draw or were just plain rude!!! LOL this is what i came up with.

an odd collection of images portraying strange phenomenon in history.Very bizarre indeed!!!

These images are part of a set of 25 pictures for last summers project. each is an image in its own right but put together they make an image of a picnic in the great British countryside! the point of the project was to make each image link somehow to the next.by word association or similar shaped item etc. i decided to make mine one image as well as linking the words. i loved doing it even thought it did take me ages to come up with the idea and there are some very very thin links!!!! its too huge to fit in my scanner hence the images of only parts of it. they are all coloured with pencil crayons on brown paper with some white acrylic in places.

I wonder what this says about me and the way my brain works. i instantly thought of someone looking through a hole in a wall. i'm sure i'm a shrinks dream client!!!!!!

This is a piece we did in our first year which had the very loose brief of being for a calender of fish images.We were asked to produce two.one colour and one in black n white. i was originally inspired by aboriginal art and out of nowhere popped a womans face! i guess she must be a mermaid!
