NEW VENTURES

Here i am months later and i have done no drawings until this week!!! when i suddenly decided to draw faces (coz they are my nemesis) so i have started drawing willing friends faces and some have worked out better than others! but its been great fun. here they are.

What next?

so college is finished! now what!!!???? time to get my groove on and earn some money!!! yipeeeeeeeeeeee how exciting and scary!!!

for a present for our tutor we drew ourselves in robot form.it was fun and from that drawing loads of friends and family have asked me to robotise them!! funny people. anyway i robotised my partner for his 40th birthday card! i'll post the pics! they are fun.

Final project.

the time has finally come!!!
the last project is all finished and ready to be handed in tomorrow!!!
i am relieved and almost excited. doing two years of a foundation degree did not turn out to be as easy to do as i thought. i dont really have any excuse or reason why it was so hard other than the fact that i procrastinate too much and i have two kids and a man and a house that take up my time.
but anyway ,i digress...........the project is a kids book about a cat.very simple story and really just an excuse to draw cats. i am however now sick to death of crawing cats!!! LOL

This is a piece of work for a college project that is sooooo late its hardly worth bothering with! but i had to do it and do it i did. it was fun drawing elephants. my most fav animal in the world! but the image doesnt really fit the brief! as long as i scrape a pass for this one it'll be ok!!! enjoy

oh the pain of doing a self portrait. ok so it's not my favourite thing to do.
FACES!!
i see them everyday,my own many times a day (not that i'm vain and spend half the day looking in a mirror or nuffin!! LOL) so why is it i find it sooo hard to put a head,some hair,two eyes ,a nose and a mouth all together in one image and make it look human!!!! it's a bizarre thing.

Well i knuckled down to draw myself and blow me down if it aint half baad!!! it does look like me,even though i thinned my face a touch and gave myself extra lush eyelashes.Artistic license at it's best LOL.

anyway it is done and i am pleased. :0)

it was great fun to draw andcolour and its almost finished. i just need to add something else in the fridge and i'll be moving on to the next picture! yipeeeeeeeeeee how easily i discard them once they are finished!!!! LOL

james and the giant peach

i really really didnt wanna do this project as i felt like every way in which this bookcover could be drawn it probably had!!! but i went away and had a moment of an idea and even though im sure its not the most original, i really like it and enjoyed drawing it.i used pale yellowy cream paper which is quite rough in texture for this project. i love pencil crayons on different coloured backgrounds and thought this time i would try a different texture as well. i dunno if it really added anything that different but it kinda gives it an old feel. think i was going for something different and have again managed to go for old!!!!!!! LOL oh well i guess i'm not a modern woman! hahahaa!

poems project

ok so more college stuff!!!
we have been given a list of random odd and even boring poems and told to choose 6 to illustrate.i cant say i was overwhelmed with excitment about this project but thats just coz its been coloured by the stress of impending deadlines for essays!!!! grrrrrr
after this week the head should be a bit clearer and as the pictures have progressed i have got more into them. strangly i seem to be picking poems that have a death theme!!! LOL i wonder what that says about my mood .i will put up a couple that im pleased with. The one i am currently working on is a heart in a jar in a fridge!!! niiiice!!!! well here goes. enjoy. xxxx <3

slugs n snails and puppy dogs tails

The wonderful topic of feminism! i decided to share my view that men and women should be equal but are indeed VERY different! so i drew a set of scales.the man is made of slugs and snails and puppy dogs tails and the woman is made of sugar and spice and all things nice. wow how easily i have popped us into our nice neat boxes! I'm firmly made of sugar and spice and all things nice! except when I'm made of arsenic and snake venom of course! LOL
the final image is too big to scan on my little scanner so i have just scanned the man and woman.

instructions project.

We were given the task of coming up with a set of instructions.we could choose what we liked and could illustrate how we liked.After looking for inspiration for another project i found in a book, a list of ideas of how to ruin Santa's reputation in a week!! seemed like the perfect idea to me. I changed a few as they weren't easy to draw or were just plain rude!!! LOL this is what i came up with.

an odd collection of images portraying strange phenomenon in history.Very bizarre indeed!!!

These images are part of a set of 25 pictures for last summers project. each is an image in its own right but put together they make an image of a picnic in the great British countryside! the point of the project was to make each image link somehow to the next.by word association or similar shaped item etc. i decided to make mine one image as well as linking the words. i loved doing it even thought it did take me ages to come up with the idea and there are some very very thin links!!!! its too huge to fit in my scanner hence the images of only parts of it. they are all coloured with pencil crayons on brown paper with some white acrylic in places.

I wonder what this says about me and the way my brain works. i instantly thought of someone looking through a hole in a wall. i'm sure i'm a shrinks dream client!!!!!!
